Where to start? Well, who doesn't like a good before and after...right? So let's start there:
The "before" is me in December of 2014 and the "after" is me in January of 2015. What a crazy year it's been. I went from 271 pounds (yikes, I think that's the first time I have ever put that down in public--I don't think my husband even knows that number....well there ya go Tom, there it is) to 135 pounds, from couch to half marathoner and from 52% body fat to 18%. I literally weigh less than I did in high school and can run a heck of a lot further too! Now comes the hard part--keeping it off! The exciting, motivating part--you know where everyone says WOW and tells you how great you look--is coming to an end and I am faced with..,.well, life.
It's time to struggle with what we moms all struggle with--balancing our own needs versus the needs of our kids and spouse, making time for ourselves, keeping up healthy habits and instilling them in our kids. So that's what this blog is about--family, food & fun! Can't wait to talk more. I will be posting some about my weight loss journey, about my running journey and all my history (should have started this blog a year ago, dang!) but mixing it with current thoughts and what's going on in my life NOW.
